096 | A small circular knoll, covered with wood, and having a gradual slope all round - about thirty feet in height. Tradition says that in ancient times criminals were tried on a small knoll on the farm of Carsehead about ½ mile north of this, in the parish of Fowlis Wester, and that those guilty of great crimes were hanged on this knoll. It is a natural feature. |
