The parish of Kippen is in the Presbytery of Dunblane, Synod of Perth and Stirling. The parish of Kippen is one whole and entire part, but it is divided into four separate portions by the boundaries between the Counties of Perth and Stirling passing through it. Two of these four separate parts are in the County of Stirling; and two are in the County of Perth. Of the two portions of the parish that are in the County of Stirling, one, containing 3203 Statute acres, is in the extreme west of the parish, joining the parishes of Balfron, Drymen, and Port of Monteith; the other portion containing 3162 Statute acres, is in the extreme east of the parish, joining the parishes of Balfron, Gargunnock, Kilmadock, Kincardine (detached) and Port of Monteith. In this last portion (extending northward from the junction of the parishes of Balfron, and Gargunnock) lye a detached part of the County of Perth, containing 646 Statute acres, the other portion of the parish in the County of Perth contains 4320 Statute acres extending from north to south through the centre of the parish, and forms part of the main body of the County of Perth. There are no detached portions of this parish nor are there any detached portions of another parish situated within it. |
