No 1- Kinnaird Castle
After Alexander, surnamed The Fiene, had finished the Castle of Baledgarno, so called from having been founded by his brother, King Edgar A.D.1107, he built the Castle of Kinnaird for the same purpose as Bal- Edgar ( Baledgarno), namely, the suppression of Thieves & robbers who infested the Carse of Gowrie from the north. This Castle Continued in possession of The Crown till A D. 1172.
