125 | Situated in a field adjoining to and west of the farm of Netherton. this field is universally known in the neighbourhood as the "Roman Camp". The ground is very singularly undulated and presents something of the appearance of a Camp although there is nothing sufficiently defined to determine its exact nature. It is said that several hooks, used for suspending camp kettles, were found here some 20 years since and which bore every appearance of being of Roman manufacture. |
