096 A large flat stone about 14 feet high surrounded by a low stone wall, on the top of which are iron railings About the year 84 of of the Christian era, a battle was fought between the Romans, and the natives to the N.W. [North West] of this parish. The latter were put to flight. It is probable that Galgacus, on the occasion, commanded the natives.
