The site of a castle not a vestige of which remains at present. Situated in Glen Quaich on the south bank of the river of that name, on low flat ground.
Nothing is known in the neighbourhood respecting when it was built, or at what period it was removed. Tradition says it belonged to one of Fingal's warriours, which is very doubtful. |

This glen extends from Stronconnachan at its head or western extremity to Amulree at its eastern. In general its sides are somewhat steep. The upper or western half is uncultivated, but the eastern portion, particularly around Loch Fraochie is under cultivation to some extent.
"This valley runs nearly parallel to Strath Tay, and its waters, first collected into the Quaich and afterwards into the Braan, emty themselves into the Tay at Dunkeld. For the space of more than a mile above the entrance of the entrance of the Quaich into Loch Fraochie, there is a dead level of swampy, and apparently undrainable land."

Remarks on Name Sheets
In many cases in this district of the Highlands, it has been deemed
advisable to adopt the Anglicized method of spelling - such being
commonly used in the district for legal and other purposes.
In some of the Gaelic names also, the Provincial method of spelling
has been adopted, as no authorities can be obtained for the spelling
of such names in correct Gaelic.
