095 "The north and east parts of Crieff are supplied from another, and almost equally abundant source; and the memory of St. Thomas, the tutelary saint of Crieff, has been rescued from oblivion by a market and a well, which still bear his name." New Statistical Account
This well is situated in a garden on the west side of Brown's Lane. Its waters are very seldom, if ever, used now for culinary purposes. A short time ago the feuer on whose property it is wanted to close it up, but was prevented by the authorities of the town. Tradition ascribes great efficacy to its waters in the cure of certain diseases, such as measles, hoopingcough and is yet, though rarely, resorted to for that purpose. It is Kept in a very unclean state.
