095 A large farmsteading with offices, and a Corn Mill, all one storey in height, slated and in good repair. property of Lord Willoughby de Eseby. Drummond Castle.
"Milnab - or Mill of the Abbot, is now greatly reduced both in size and consequence from what it was in former days. We read in Malcolm's Memoirs, of a royal charter of the lands and mill of Milnab being granted in 1552 by James V to John Drummond, grandson of one of the Stewards of Strathearn. In the year 1677 mention is made of the lands and barony, which contained the town, mill, and mill-lands of Milnab. There was a religious house, connected with Inchaffray, near the mill; and the last generation but one remembered the ruins of it. The family of Milnab was a branch of the house of Drummond, and maintained a distinguished rank in the country for many generations. The line is now believed to be extinct, and the estate is the property of the Right Honourable Lord and Lady Willoughby de Eseby."
