051 | The site of A Stone Dyke said to be 6 feet high by 4 feet wide enclosing a portion of land known as Laighwood Park, none of the original is to be seen as it was all taken down about 100 years ago to build the present one in place and on the site of the old one, a great portion of the present one is in good preservation other parts of it has been trown down for the purpose of enlarging Fields, Why it was called Pict's Dyke none in the locality can tell. The land it enclosed was granted by Robert II (between 1370 and 1390) to the Earl of Murray now Duke of Athole in whose possession it still remains |
