This Mr. Soutar says, is supposed, from the evidence of a number of names lying in the district but chiefly within the parish of Kinloch, such as Craig Roman in Blairgowrie, Galmyre (Galgacus), Balcairn, Cairnbutts and a large Caledonian Camp called the Buzzard Dykes in Kinloch besides the evidence of the numerous Cairns both on the farm of West Gormack in Kinloch & the district of Mause in Blairgowrie. Knox's Map of the Basin of the Tay places the supposed position of the battle of Mons Grampius through Kinloch and along the summit of Craig Roman and Knockmahar, or what he calls "Blair Hill" in Blairgowrie parish.
