The other part of the lowland division of the parish lying eastward of the Ericht, rises with a gradual ascent, & finally forms a part of the frontier of the Grampians. It is bounded on the East and North, by the parish of Alyth; on the West by Rattray and on the South West by Blairgowrie The Highland division is bisected by a small portion of Blairgowrie Ph. [Parish] It is thus not only widely separated from the lowland division, but consists itself of two distinct parts. The western portion of this part of the parish lies in the angle of confluence between the Ardle & Blackwater The Ardle separates it on the south from the parishes of Blairgowrie and Kinloch; and the Blackwater on the east and north, from the parishes of Blairgowrie and Alyth. On the west it is bounded by the parish of Kirkmichael; & on the north-west by a small dissevered portion of Caputh parish. The other portion of the highland division of the parish, being the estate of Drimmie, lies on the left bank of the Ericht, and is embraced on the south and west, by the parish of Blairgowrie; and on the east and north, by the parishes of Rattray and Alyth.
There is no market-town in the parish, nor even any Village. The Blairgowrie branch of the Scottish North Eastern Railway skirts the south-western extremity of the parish." New Statistical Account.
