108 | This old parish church is Situated between Auchterarder and Auchterarder House, about a quarter of a mile South from the latter, and on the eastern side of the main road, nothing earlier than A.D. 1200 is known concerning this ruin It was dedicated to St. Mackessog. It is of a rectangular shape. The four walls and one partition are the only remains. The highest part of this ruin is about 25 feet. The present parish church is in the town of Auchterarder. |

The new Statistical Account is wrong in giving St. Mungo as the dedicatory name of this church. Mr. Reid, Solicitor, Auchterarder, has a
Charter in which the church at Auchterarder is mentioned as being dedicated to St. Mackessog and the one at Aberuthven to St. Kattan.
The present parish church is in the town of Auchterarder
