108 This is a small well Situated on the North side of Auchterarder, and between the Pow Hillock and the old Parish Church. It is named after St. Mackessog - the patron saint of the old Ph. [Parish] Church. The water of this is considered superior to any in the vicinity of Auchterarder.

108 This burn may be said to have its source in a pond a little on the South west of West Kirkton. It flows in an easterly direction and close to the old Parish Church, and empties itself into the Earn near the Mount It changes its name after passing the mill dam at Newbigging.
