117 A small village situated on the turnpike road from Stirling to Crieff, nine miles from the former and thirteen from the latter place. The houses are chiefly two storeys, all slated, and in good repair. Except a few houses at Greenloaning, a station on the Scottish Central Railway, there is no other village in the parish. It has two places of worship, viz, the parish and Free Chruches, two schools, a reading room, post office, two inns, one small publichouse and several small grocer shops. There is no manufactory of any kind, the inhabitants being chiefly employed in agriculture.
