belongs to the boundary range which is
indented on the North and South of the
mountains by narrow passes leading to Glenshee
and the district of Black Water
It (Alyth) is separated from the Parishes of
Airlie & Meigle by the River Isla, and
from Kirkmichael and a detached part
of Bendochy by the Erricht or Black Water.
The northern district may be again subdivided
into three parts, 1 a tract &c. &c. 2 the forest
of Alyth &c. &c. and 3 the Blacklunnans, a
small fertile district lying along the side of
the Black Water (Alyth)
