053 | A little N.E. [Noth East] from the house is a small planted knoll or eminence known by the name of the Law Knowe. Mr. Bruce says the only tradition connected with it, is that it had been used as a place where courts of justice were held in feudal times. The appearance is natural, and ridges are distinctly seen, shewing that it has been under cultivation before being planted with wood. |
