[South] eastern end of the town This is a large rectangular building erected in 1743, and was one of the first Secession Churches in Scotland, It was built for the Revd. [Reverend] Mr. Moncreiffe of Culforgie when he separated himself from the established Ph. [Parish] the Congregation at that time was very great, double the strength of the present I am told it was erected for 1000 Sittings and was at present about 380 Communicants.-
