This hollow or Slack is bounded on the East & West by Trevana Knowe And the Lead Mine; And on the North and South by Fingland Burn and Dumbetha Boag. The Name Seems to be a Corruption of Bield, which Signifies a shelter - And hence applicable to this Said place, As being a convenient Shelter for Sheep.
