A handsomely built modern farmstead, standing in low ground about ½ a mile S. W. [South West] of Haystoune - The dwelling house, which stands apart from the offices is a neat stone structure, two storeys high & slated & having a well kept garden attached - The Out buildings are extensive, commodious & neatly built with slightly projecting gables & having divisions of the arms of the Hay family sculptured near the Apex - there is a thrashing mill worked by a Water Wheel & a very neat row of Cottages, with small vegetable gardens stand N E [North East] for the laborers - The Old steading stood a short distance N [North] of the present one where some trees still remain - The property of Sir Adam Hay
