016 Dead Wifes Hill, is Situated on the farm of Hall Mannor - A Range of Hiils and tending nearly North and South, on the Boundary which divides the Parish of Drummelzier, Mannor, And Stobo. -
Tradition, reports that about 200 Years ago, that and old woman was travelling between the Villages, of Drummelzier & Mannor; and was benighted on the Summit of the hill, at the junction of the Parishes above mentioned, and perished in a Snow Storm, and was buired at the said junction.-
"Hence the derivation of the name, Dead wifes Hill."
