This is the grave of David Ritchie the well Known Prototype of "The Black Dwarf". He was Interred here in 1810 and the spot was Marked by a Plain rude Stone but in 1845, a neat gravestone with Appropriate inscription was erected by Messrs W & R Chambers of Edinburgh - See description of "Black Dwarf's Cottage"
