012 | [Situation] About 13 Chains East from the Roman Camp This name applies to a Knowe whereon there are two plantations, between the "Roman Camp" and Lyne Church. It is said to have been so called from having at one period belonged to Melrose Abbey. And is also supposed, from its general appearance and proximity to the "Roman Camp" to be a "Tumulus". There had been no exhumation however, to support this belief. |
