A neat and well constructed building two Storeys high beautifully Situated on the SW [South West] side of the Lyne Water having a large Vegetable garden, Ornamental ground, and Suitable office attached. together with a large farm a great portion of which is planted with fir and forest trees It is said that this was an Hospital belonging to the Knights Templars The Original house was quite small And is now in Or about the Centre of the building On account of several additions made around it by the present proprietor which additions are chiefly in the Castellated form, It is the property and occasional residence of Dr. [Doctor] Ferguson
