At the South-west corner of the buildings is the ruins of a small tower or fort, which is associated in the district with no traditionary interest. It is thought to have been one of the ancient strongholds [but] respecting the date of its erection, or anything connected with its history, tradition is silent. The farm attached to Lee consists of a consi[derable] quanity of arable land - And is the property of John Millar, Milfield. The present tennant is William Tait, Kirkland. |
