016 [Situation] About 3/8 pf a Mile East of Drummelzier Church
This is the Remains of what was a very Strong Castle. It was in the Form of a Square with Circular Towers at each angle which was pierced with loopholes, a portion of the wall still Remain which is of great thickness. It is not Known by whom it was built or destroyed, there being no Traditions about it in the Neighbourhood. It is Supposed to have been erected to protect the approch to Drummelzier Castle that Castle not being Considered Sufficiently Strong. It is Situated on a Pointed Rocky eminence and forms a very Conspicuous object.
