This is Part of the Parish of Culter which formerly belonged to Kilbucho Parish. It is bounded on the north by Skirling, on the East by Kilbucho and on the South and West by Lanarkshire. "By a Sentence of the Lords Commission of Tweed in the year 1794 a considerable Part of the Parish of Kilbucho in Tweeddale was annexed to Culter which it borders on the North east." A small Circular Conical Shaped eminence. On the farm of Bamflat, for the most part planted with Fir trees.It is supposed to be a Barrow or Tumulus, but there are no traditions in the Neighbourhood respecting it. It has every appearance of a Tumulus, but it has never been opened. It is of Artificial Construction. |
