100 A freshwater loch partly mixed with saltwater but not sufficient to make any distinctive difference in the ebb or flow. It is about 3 1/2 miles in length by about 1 1/2 in breadth and is almost bounded on the south by the public road leading from Stromness to Kirkwall, on the east it connects with the "Loch of Harray", at "Brogar", extending northword to "Voy", and bounded on the W. by Ness of Seatter.
