001 This object of antiquity stands in the High Street at the north-east corner of the wall bounding the parish manse. It consists of a circular stone pillar about one foot in diameter & seven feet high which rests on a circular stone about four feet in diameter, the face of both being much worn by age & other causes. It originally stood in the centre of the High St. nearly opposite its present position, but was removed by the Authorities of the town to its present site about the beginning of last century, which will be mentioned when its original site is shown on Plan 1:16.2 Nothing further is known respecting it than its having formed the town Cross from time immemorial.

001 A commodious dwelling-house forming the manse of the parish minister, situated on the west side of High Street contiguous to the Town & County Buildings. It is two storeys high, slated, & in excellent repair, property of the Heritor's of the parish.
