001 This street originally was called Main Street from its being the principal street of Nairn. It extends in a north-easterly direction from Cawdor Street at the latters junction with Queens Street & Maida Place, to Bridge Street and forms with Cawdor Street, & Harbour Street, one continuous street from the Railway Station to the Quay, at the lower end of the town. The Town and County Buildings, and branches of the National & British Linen Company's Banks are the only buildings of any note in the street, the remainder being for the most part private dwelling houses the lower part of which are occupied as shops. Property of various persons.

001 A street branching off High Street at the British Linen Company's Branch Bank & extending to King Street. Only two buildings have as yet been erected on the north side of this street at its junction with High Street: They are three storeys in height, slated, & in excellent condition: property of Mrs Gordon.
