010.08 This name is applied to a well of very pure water, situated at the side of the North Back Road. It is supposed to be the well alluded to in the Records of Forres of about 1620 as the Virgin Mary's Well; it takes its present name from a man of the name of Pearson, who occupied the lands on which it is situated some 70 or 80 years ago, & who caused the well to be built round.
