007.16 | "What the Ancient form of this Cross was is not known, but that which stood here last century was a hexagonal pillar of dressed ashlar, twelve feet high and large enough to contain a spiral stair - From the top of the pillar rose a shaft of stone, surmounted by a Scotch Lion rampant and the initials (C.R.) of King Charles II." Nothing remains of it now except the site which is marked by a large cross of raised Causeway Stones. |
