An irregularly formed street leading from the old Bridge to the North East end of the Kirk Gate, It is paved and generally Kept pretty clean. The houses on both sides are generally three stories high, the two upper ones are inhabited by respectable Trades people. and the lower one is taken up with Grocers, Drapers, and spirit Merchants shops.

An old house 3 stories high with the date 1615 over the entrance. The first Episcopal Establishment in Leith was in this house and it is now occupied as a School in connection with that body who rent it from Mr Greig, Leith.
