TRINITY Trinity An estate Situated about half a mile west of Leith, on the Southern margin of the Firth of Forth. It is bounded on the East by the estate of Bonnington, on the South by the property of Heriots Hospital, on the west by the by the estate of Wardie, and on the north by the Firth of Forth. It was formerly the property of the Trinity House in Leith, an institution for the Support of old and disabled Seamen. It is now mostly feued for Villas, and mansions, and divided into small estates, belonging to various proprietors. It forms an agreeable resort for the Citizens of Edinburgh during the bathing season, and is rendered of easy access by the Edinburgh Perth and Dundee Railway which passes through it.
