[Reverend] Mr. Brown Free Church Manse Roslin. 012 A large Circular mound of earth of considerable elevation. it is circular in its form & surrounded with ramparts on the N.E. [North East] side between it and Maivis Bank House there are some artificial terraces (Ornamental) which may have been part of the original ramparts of the Roman Camp. The Revd. [Reverend] Mr. Brown of Roslin says this Camp is of the Castra Straterva Kind & was but merely used occassionally by the Romans It is situated a little S.W [South West] of Maivis Bank House
