027.03 | The church stands on a tumulus or mound on the north bank of the Medwyn. Its date of erection is uncertain. It was thatched with heath previous to the year 1750. It was repaired in 1820 and a gothic tower was added to the *east end, and on each side a gothic window It is seated to accommodate 250 people. The ministers Stipend is at present worth about £140 with £8.6s.8d for communion elements The glebe comprises about 15 imperial acres. * This is an error in the Stat.[Statistical] Acct. [Account] as the tower is at the West end of the church. |
