024.07 A large tract of moss or heathy pasture, part of which is in this parish, but having the greater part in the parish of Lesmahagow. It belongs to three persons - the Duke Of Hamilton, who is proprietor of a very small portion of it in this parish, Lord Douglas of the Lesmahagow part. And Captain McNeil Hamilton of Raploch, of the greater portion which is in Dalserf Parish. The name is well known as applying to the moss in both parishes. There is a small village in Lesmahagow north east of the moss, of the name of "Thripwood". Part of the Lesmahagow Railway goes through "Thripwood Moss".
