The colliery of this name (trace 6) is well known, and will be always used as "Longlee Colliery" as long as the pit stands. Persons of long standing in the parish invariably call this farm "Longlee or Neatherburn". The factor (W. Graeme) will not admit of such a name as "Longlee", but should not be lost sight of. |
