039.06 | One of the largest Kinds of old Cairns. The loose stones still retain a circular form with a diameter of 100 ft [feet] & about 20 ft [feet] in height. Two or three miles of dyke have been built from the stones of the Cairn. It stands on the pinnacle of Tinto and the centre is the junction Point of Symington, Wiston, Covington & Carmichael phs. [parishes] & several property boundaries. |
