This is a handwritten letter dated 16 May 61 (presumably 1861)

My dear General
I send you the orthography
sheet respecting the place we
have called Yieldshields, and
shall be glad if you would insert
the name in the way you think
it should be spelt. I shall be
going to Scotland in August and
hope I may be fortunate enough to
meet you. Yours truly

(signature indecipherable but looks like it could be " Henry James". See letter on next page)

(In the bottom LH corner it says " M. General Yule" and I assume that is to whom the letter was sent)
