033.05 A plain monument, built of Sandstone, about 15 feet high on the E [East] side of which is a marble slab bearing the following inscription.
To the Memory of John the third Earl of Hyndford, born in the year 1701, and departed this life the 19th July 1767. In 1741, upon the King of Prussia's invading Silesia, he was sent by his late Majesty George the Second as Envoy extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to that Prince, and the year after accommodated the differences which had occasioned the war. Upon the conclusion of the treaty of Breslaw he was created a Knight of St. [Saint] Andrew or the Thistle, and was invested at Charlottenberg Augst. [August] 2nd 1742 by the King of Prussia.
