Description: A square stone building of antique appearance on Drumcoltran farm it is about two storys high the exterior walls quite entire it is now inhabited and used as a farm house there has been some alteration made in the roof and a little addition to the north end of it Recently. a few years ago some Labourers were building a new fence a little north of this building and found a match lock a little below the surface all the information that can be had in the Locality Respecting this old edifice is a supposition that it had been an occasional Residence of Lord Herries at one time. [Written in another hand an pen as follows:] This has more the appearance of a castle than tower althou [although] it is Generally known by the Given name W. R[owan?]
