[South West]end is a Considerable eminence (or hill) called 'Dunool' Also about ¼ of a mile from it Summit are 2 wells Called 'Gold Wells' where it is said the celebrated Mr. Dodd Collected part of his gold used in Coining And about ½ A mile farther in nearly the Same direction is a Small Cairn (Shepherd's pile) almost defaced called 'WalKer's Cairn' The view from its Summit is varied and extensive Comprehending part of Ireland, the Irish Sea a great part of Wigtonshire, Isle of Man, Kirkcudbrightshire, Lanarkshire, Cumberland, Dumfrieshire, Ayrshire and Seaport of Ayr, Islands of Arran & Bute Dumbartonshire Argylshire, Firth of Clyde And Ailsa Craig. On its Summit is a [Trigonometrical Station] called by Trigl [Trigonometrical] Party 'Cairnsmuir on Deugh'
