005 | [Situation] About 20 chains East of Knockingarroch farm house. A large hill on the farm of Knockingarroch, and adjoining Cairnsmore, its surface consists of rocky pasture. On it is a Trigl. [Trigonometrical] Station called by Trigl. [Trigonometrical] Party "Dodd". Most probably this hill is named in honour of Mr Dodd he who once collected a quantity of Gold in this locality for the purpose of making Coin. This hill is part of an irregular range connected with Standing Stone Rig |
