030 A handsome Lake bounded by the farms of Morrowton, Ochars & Round Fell. It extends in a North and Southerly direction for about 2 Miles in length and from ¼ to ½ of a Mile in breadth. Around the Margin of which is a fine bed of Sand famed for the Sharpening of Scythes. It also abounds with Yellow Trout besides another rare Specie Called Char, not Caught with either Bait or Fly, but with net. Near the Western margin of the North end of the Lake is a Small Island Called Eagle Isld. [Island] which took its name in consequence of Eagles resorting it formerly, & also at the South end a little West from the Loch is a handsome Shooting Lodge of which see description in an adjoining Plan. The property of Horatio Grandvile Stewart Morray Esqr. of Calley.
