A small stream or burn having its rise in Loch Muick and running in a S. [South] Westerly direction to its influx with Loch Doon, during part of its course it forms a boundary line betwixt the Counties of Ayr and Kirkcudbright. Its name originated from a person named Knox. having at one time lived near it.
