A standing stone about 3 ft. [feet] in height and the same in breadth & about 10 inches in thickness, formerly it was about 10 inches higher, and had a hole 5 inches in diameter through it, but about 9 years ago by some mischance or other it was broken across at the hole. A tradition exists in this locality that in olden times the ceremony of marriage was celebrated by the parties joining hands through the hole in this stone. This stone is on the farm of Lochrinnie and situated about 20 Links S.E. [South East] of Chapel (in ruins).
