[West by South] of Laggan farmhouse An ancient Cairn or Tumulus on the farm of Whitecairn, it is of a circular shape, about 130 feet in diameter. There is a tradition in the neighbourhood that the first Knight of Lochinvar killed a wild boar on or near this spot & that this Cairn was erected to Commemorate the exploit. Another story is told which says that the wild boar was killed at a short distance from the "White Cairn" & that a smaller Cairn marked the spot: particular enquiry has been made respecting the latter Cairn but no account of it can be got nor does any trace of it remain on the ground

Curiosity has not yet caused its being opened to discover what its contents might be, but concerning it there is a tradition in this locality to the effect that this cairn was constructed here in commemoration of its being the place on which "Gordon" the first Lord of Kenmuir Slew a Wild Boar, for which act he was raised to the Peerage by the King With the titles of "Earl of Kenmuir" and "Lord of Lochinvar".
