[North] East] side of Meikle Millyea, It was one of the [very] famed rocking Stones in the South of Scotland, being so nicely poised that a slight wind set it in motion, but by some mischance or other it has lost its equal balance & has not rocked any these many years past. The following is a copy from 'Grose's Antiquities' This huge Stone, which is poised as to 'be moveable with a small exertion of force, stands near the Summit of a high ridge of Mountains, called the 'Kells Rins' The particular hill on which it is situated is called 'Mullae, and the Stone itself is called Miekle Lump; near it is a Small pool of water which covers about half a rood of land. The dimensions of this Stone are, its greatest length 8 feet 9 inches, its height 5 feet one inch and a half, its circumference twenty two feet 9 inches'.
