013 [Situation] About 1/2 mile E. by N. [East by North] of Culsharg.
A small rocky heathy tract of land on the farm of "Stroan". The "Buchan Burn" forms a loop or bend on its N. [North] Western Side. It derives its prefix 'Buchan' from its having been at one time the boundary between the farms of "Stroan" And "Buchan" which boundary has been subsequently altered a little farther east by a Stone wall running northerly, which is also the eastern boundary of this loop.

A large rock on the farm of "Buchan" on its southern side which is pretty high and steep hawks are in the habit of building their nests (hence the name).
