016 | [Situation] On the East side of Lochinvar Lodge A tolerably sized fresh water lake on the farms of Dochrae Glenshimeroch and Corseglass, it abounds with yellow trout of the best of quality. And upon a small Islet in its centre stands the ruins of Lochinvar Castle which is said to have belonged to the Gordons, anciently Knights of Lochinvar, and now Viscount Kenmure and Lord of Lochinvar by restoration in 1824 to the titles forfeited in 1716. |
